About

Since 2003 the Neighborhood Parks Council has led San Francisco’s efforts to create a “green” corridor for recreation, art and nature discovery along the Southeast shore of the City. Dubbed the Blue Greenway, this 13-mile corridor will connect China Basin in the north to Candlestick Point State Recreation Area in the south. Upon completion, it will provide an important complement to Crissy Field on the northern waterfront, and move San Francisco closer to its goal of open access to all of its waterfront lands. While the Blue Greenway will eventually attract visitors from all over the world to its stunning vistas and jewel parks along the shoreline, it will more importantly provide much-needed recreation and open spaces for residents of neighborhoods located along the southern waterfront of San Francisco.
